Kids in Pits Phase 2 kicks off –
Two Speedway Australia affiliated tracks have been approved for phase two of the Kids In Pits Program – with more soon to follow.
Committing to higher standards in safety, including adherence to a Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy, Premier Speedway Warrnambool and Murray Bridge Speedway are now able to allow children into their pits at compliant Speedway Australia events.
In accordance with the program, children must wear a hi-visibility vest at all times, with their associated car number clearly displayed on the back. They must also remain within 3 meters of their supervising adult at all times, and not be within 5 metres of any race vehicle being pushed, fuelled, jacked or moved.
Speedway Australia General Manager Matt Casburn says: “The Kids in Pits program is a positive step forward in ensuring a future for this sport. It also makes things a little easier for the parents and guardians who invest so much time and effort into Speedway and can now have their little one’s part of the excitement of race day”.
“The venues joining the program are exciting assets and join the three pre-existing tracks who run the Kids in Pits Program.”

Premier Speedway’s first Kids in Pits inclusive event will take place on December 12th 2026.
